This year, during Global ITP Awareness Week, 21–27 September, we want to light up as many buildings and bridges in purple as possible once again!
A purple bridge, an illuminated building or another prominent landmark symbolises LightUp4ITP and our worldwide campaign to raise awareness of ITP.
Take action! Contact your local council or the organisation responsible for lighting the building or bridge and ask them to take part in LightUp4ITP.

During Global ITP Awareness Week (21–27 September), we want to raise as much awareness of ITP as possible. That’s why the International ITP Alliance has created three different stickers, each featuring a message to help raise awareness of ITP.
The stickers are being distributed across the countries represented by the International ITP Alliance.
Have you ordered your stickers yet?
During Global ITP Awareness Week, the Dutch ITP Patients’ Association and the Van Creveld Clinic jointly organised an ITP information evening for adults living with ITP and their partners or loved ones.
The following topics were covered:
It was a very informative and interesting evening, with an excellent turnout.
During the final weekend of Global ITP Awareness Week, we held an ITP Children’s Contact Day for children living with ITP and their parents or caregivers. The venue was fantastic: the Netherlands Water Museum.
The day began with a personal story shared by one of our board members, who was diagnosed with ITP as a child herself. Paediatric haematologist Semaja Bottse was also there to talk about ITP and answer questions.
After lunch, everyone had the opportunity to explore the museum.
A wonderful and successful day for everyone involved!
