September 2025 will once again be dedicated to raising awareness of Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP). The entire month is recognized as ITP Awareness Month, with a special focus during the final week – Global ITP Awareness Week, taking place from September 22 to 28, 2025. During this week, special initiatives around the world will shine a spotlight on ITP. The Dutch patient association is proud to take part in this international effort.
The color purple is central to the campaign. Throughout September, and especially during Gobal ITP Awareness Week, we will highlight ITP extensively across our social media channels. We encourage our followers to join us in increasing visibility for ITP, for example by using a special profile picture, wearing purple clothing, or illuminating buildings in purple.
This initiative is carried out in collaboration with our partners from the International ITP Alliance. By uniting our efforts and drawing extra attention to ITP each year, we can make a difference together and increase visibility for this often invisible disease.
