This month, Professor Roger Schutgens published a review article* on the treatment of chronic ITP. In it, he discusses the latest findings in the literature worldwide. His main conclusion is that in particular carefully chosen combinations of new and existing therapies are very effective in the first-line treatment of chronic ITP.

The thought-provoking statement in the title of his article “time for change” is to be understood as a petition to all concerned: ITP patients, but first and foremost all professionals involved in the treatment of ITP.
